This privacy policy is meant to explain how Rydelinx collects, uses and protects and discloses personal information provided by Users, Riders and Third-Party Drivers located within the Region, including those who access the Services to request transportation. Rydelinx acknowledges that personal information may include sensitive material and takes all reasonable steps to ensure that your information is protected.
This policy may be periodically updated, at which time Rydelinx will notify you of any changes through the Rydelinx app, email or by other means. To the extent permitted under applicable law, by using the Services after such notice, you consent to the updated policy.


“User” means any individual or entity that accesses the Rydelinx Services.

“Rider” means any individual or entity that uses the Rydelinx Services to request transportation.

“Services” means the Rydelinx mobile application and related services which enable users to arrange and schedule transportation.

“Third Party Driver” means any individual that has entered into an agreement with Rydelinx via the Rydelinx App to provide transportation to Rydelinx Users.

Personal Information Collected by Rydelinx

Rydelinx may collect the following information from Users and Riders:

  • Information provided to Rydelinx via your User Account (including your name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, payment or banking information, identification numbers, birth date, EIN or social security number, and photo, as well as information transmitted when requesting customer service and contacting other Users. We do not intentionally collect sensitive information, such as genetic data, health information, or religious information.
  • Information created when you use Rydelinx Services, including:
    1. Transaction information: the type of services you requested or provided, date and time the service was provided, amount charged, distance traveled, promotional codes used and other related transaction details.
    2. Location information: as determined through data such as GPS, Bluetooth, your IP address and WIFI. NOTE: Riders must choose to use the Rydelinx application by enabling location services; since, failure to do so may affect accurate location functionality.
    3. Usage and Preference Information: information about how you use the Services, including how you customize your settings and preferences.
    4. Device Information: information about the device(s) you use to access the Services, including hardware models, operating systems and versions, software, file names and versions, preferred languages, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers, serial numbers, device motion information, and mobile network information, as well as server logs, which may include information like device IP address, access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, app updates and other system activity, type of browser, and the third-party site or service you were using before interacting with our services.
    5. Call/text Information between Riders and Drivers: dates/times and content, which may be used for security purposes, dispute resolution and analytics.
    6. Address Book/Calendar information (if authorized by User): names and contact information from your address book, calendar information (event title and description, date and time, location).
  • Information from Outside Sources (such as credit reports, marketing mailing lists, commercially available geographic and demographic information, publicly available information, such as public posts to social networking sites, and user feedback, including ratings or compliments)

Rydelinx may collect the following information from Third Party Drivers:
All information that may be collected from Drivers (identified above) as well as: information about your vehicle or insurance, consent to a background check (where permitted by law), location information when the Rydelinx app is running, information from insurance providers and financial services providers, and tax identification numbers (or social security numbers) for 1099 tax forms.

How Rydelinx Uses Your Information

Information provided to Rydelinx by Drivers and Riders will be used only for the following purposes:

  • Creating, developing, operating, delivering, and improving the Services, content and advertising located in our app (by enabling transportation, processing or facilitating payments for transportation services, enabling information-sharing features (e.g. feedback and referrals), and enabling personalized account features.
  • Performing internal operations necessary to provide the Services (e.g. troubleshooting operational problems, conducting data analysis, and monitoring usage and activity trends).
  • Providing effective customer service (including monitoring and responding to your questions and addressing problems).
  • Enabling communications between Users, Rider and Third-Party Drivers (e.g. to confirm a pickup location).
  • Communicating service updates, offer and promotions, and delivering customized content, or advertising (such as personalized offers for products and services that may be of interest to you).
  • Ensuring Safety of Users, Riders and Third-Party Drivers.
  • Complying with state and federal law.
  • Preventing illegal activities, suspected fraud, and potential threats to the Services.
  • Investigating and Prosecuting violations of our Terms of Use or other service conditions or restrictions or claims or disputes relating to your use of the Services.

Information provided to Rydelinx by Third Party Drivers may be used, in addition to the uses listed above, to identify unsafe driving behaviors such as speeding or harsh braking and acceleration.

Photo IDs of Third-Party Drivers may be used to help ensure that the Driver using the Services matches their Rydelinx account profile.

Rydelinx does not sell or share your personal information to third parties for third party direct marketing purposes.

Use of “Cookies”

“Cookies” are small data files that are placed in your browser by websites to recognize your computer or mobile device when you return to that site. Cookies keep track of your movements within the site, and can store usernames, preferences and other customizations. They are stored on your computer's hard drive.

Rydelinx uses cookies and other identification technologies on our apps, websites, emails, and online ads for purposes described in this policy.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.

However, if you do not accept cookies, the functionality of the Services may be reduced.

Rydelinx may use cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as: authenticating Users, configuring User account preferences, determining the popularity of content, measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, and analyzing online behaviors.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Rydelinx may share/disclose your information in the following ways:

  • With other Users: e.g. information between Riders and Third-Party Drivers related to use of the Services to request transportation (e.g. Rider’s name, rating and pickup/drop-off locations, and Third-Party Driver’s name, photo, rating, locations and vehicle make, model, color, and license plate), and transaction/payment information
  • With your consent or at your request, including social media posts or authorized sharing of ETAs and locations with a friend. Please be aware that the personal information and content you share is visible to other users and can be read, collected, or used by them. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to share or submit in these instances.
  • With Rydelinx subsidiaries and affiliates to help us provide the Services or conduct data processing on our behalf.
  • In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into another company
  • With Rydelinx business partners, including vendors, consultants, marketing partners, research firms, and other service providers
  • When required by applicable law, legal process or government request, and as necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, user agreements, or any other legal right.
  • With the User named on the account you use to access Services, if not your own, and with the person named on the account of any credit card you use to pay for Services.

Protection of Your Information

Rydelinx takes the security of your personal information very seriously. The Rydelinx app and Services protect your personal information, including all payment information, during transit using encryption. When your personal data is stored by Rydelinx, we use technology systems with secured access housed in facilities using physical security measures.

Retention and Deletion of Your Information

You may delete your Rydelinx account at any time using the “Privacy Settings” menu in the Rydelinx app. Upon request, Rydelinx will delete or anonymize your account information. Information may still be accessed by Rydelinx following deletion of your account: 1) where there is an unresolved matter regarding your User account, such as an outstanding credit or an unresolved claim or dispute, 2) where required by law, and 3) to protect against fraud and safety risks.

Enabling User Privacy, Protection and Preference Settings

You can use the “Settings” menu in the Rydelinx app to: access and edit the name, phone number and email address associated with your User Account, access prior trip and rating information; and adjust your location, contacts sharing and notifications preferences.

You will be alerted by your iOS or android device the first time Rydelinx requests permission to access your data.

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages. Please note that if you opt out, Rydelinx may still send you non-promotional messages, such as receipts for your rides or information about your account.
